Torta di terra (Soil Cake) is a sculpture made of soil and flowers, reflecting on food, gifts, and their connection to affective and love-based genealogies. The intervention was realized through a series of preparatory interviews with visitors of a senior center to learn about the traditions of the representation of the body in traditional Italian pastry and personal testimonies related to the themes of the research. These conversations then served as a starting point for a workshop where participants created their own soil-and-flower cakes.
