The installation presents a novel reconfiguration of Occupazioni key elements, underscoring the project’s open, processual, and modular nature, as well as its sensitivity to context and the ever-evolving interactions with visitors. A twelve-petalled carpet, crowned by the draped textiles of The Observing Child and Beast Mother, invites visitors to recline within an intimate, comfortable and sensorially stimulating environment. Throughout the space, the story of Occupazioni resonates in multiple languages, weaving an auditory layer into the experience. In this iteration, the focus is precisely on the relationship between these two characters, the interplay of repulsion and attraction to the monstrous and how this can serve as a catalyst for transformation both individually and collectively, enabling a radical reconfiguration of our relationships. Once again, the installation challenges us to reconsider our perspectives, embracing horizontality as a physical posture and an anti-hierarchical, conceptual stance.
