PUPA, curated by Dorothée Dupuis, showcased new works by Grossi Maglioni for Supernova. The exhibition features Torta di Terra (2024), a large dormant body made of earth and plants, and Pupa, plateau (2024), a quilt crafted from wool, leather, and vinyl in rose and purple, adorned with phrases formed by sprouting plants. The title of the exhibition is borrowed from the video work Pupa (2024), presented along with a sound installation made in collaboration with the musician Andreina Noce aka Eva Geist (Promessa d’acqua, 2024). Through all the different artworks, the artists aim to engage the viewer in a broader reflection on “the (female, but not only) bodies, their paradoxical relationship with materiality and symbolism, their power to be born and to die, to enjoy and to suffer, to be ineluctably one’s own and at the same time the intertwined flesh of all members of society.” (Dupuis 2024)
