L’agorà delle creature (Agora of Creatures) is a participatory art project by Grossi Maglioni inRome’s Quartaccio districtto restore an old colonnade, upon which a flamboyant iron sculpturehas been installed. The initiative unfolded through workshops with local primary school children, who, starting with a collective reading of the storyOccupazioniand further iconographicreferences drawn from art history and folklore, explored the concept of the ‘creature’as animaginary being that transcends conventional definitions of gender, species, and other socialconstructs.Through experimentation with various artistic techniques, the children brought thesebeings to life while reflecting on growth, identity transformation, and the inner conflicts it entails. The project culminated in the creation of the iron sculpture, which seamlessly integrate with therestored pergola and the plants, deepening the reflection on inter-species dialogue and blurringthe boundaries between the human, the oneiric, and the imaginary worlds.
