{"id":607,"date":"2010-08-24T14:17:07","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T14:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegrossimaglionimagicduo.com\/performanceseason\/?page_id=607"},"modified":"2013-03-27T17:58:13","modified_gmt":"2013-03-27T17:58:13","slug":"olp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/grossimaglioni.com\/performanceseason\/olp\/","title":{"rendered":"OLP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>OLP<\/strong> is an acronym that stands for \u201cOn-Line Performance,\u201d it is an artistic practice that is specific to the net:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">An investigation of OLP could occur around the limits between issues of performance art and the nature of digital communities.<br \/>\nWhen applied to online performance, \u201ctime\u201d and \u201cspace\u201d obey rules that are different from flesh and bones performances.<br \/>\nOnly through OLP could the action be spread to different locations, simultaneously, it could happen and be seen anywhere.<br \/>\nBy using OLP artist and public relationship can radically change.<br \/>\nInternet can changes the way we document performances and their reproducibility.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The festival was totally on the web, so it was independent and free from the usual art system rules. Indeed, web performance could represent force that is corrosive for the contemporary art system. The direct experience between audience and artwork, unmediated by galleries, museums etc, could also more directly connect art practice with daily life.<br \/>\nThe festival gives us the possibility to test this fertile ground together with other artists and critics, investigating the possibilities that OLP affords and its nature. Thanks to the web, we developed a method for working long distance. At the beginning this was a necessity, but, eventually, it become one of our research topics as well as a modus operandi.
